Mayor McGinn, our bike riding mayor, had his bike stolen yesterday … well actually it was his wife’s bike. According to the Seattle Times: “”I know I’ve been encouraging people to ride bikes more,” McGinn tweeted. “but I didn’t mean u could ‘borrow’ my wife’s bike w/o asking. He later tweeted that it was stolen after he rode it to work Wednesday and added a picture of the bike. “Peg is pissed,” he tweeted about his wife. The bike was stolen from a rack in the garage at City Hall, where it was sitting unlocked, said spokesman Aaron Pickus. ”

This is obviously a tragic tale and not to be taken lightly. If you can’t leave your bike unlocked at Seattle City Hall where can you leave it unlocked? What does he think this is? Sweden? If so, maybe he should be a little happier to share.
